Programmes
EPD aims at providing local partner organisations with support during the project management cycle, including on coalition building; project design and implementation; fundraising; communication and visibility; training and capacity building; and monitoring, audit and evaluation.
In particular, EPD facilitates the acquisition and management of funding for projects initiated and/or implemented by partner organisations, corresponding to the local needs in democracy assistance. Further to this, as a network organisation, EPD also serves as an interface for project implementation in third countries. More information and concrete examples can be found on the EPD project page.
The European Commission is the major sponsor of EPD projects in Ukraine, Zimbabwe and Ghana. All projects co-financed by the Commission are implemented by the EPD in cooperation with local partners. Further to this, EPD together with local partners is implementing projects financed by the Czech, the Polish and the Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the Nationale Postcode Loterij in The Netherlands, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), as well as other donors.
