Afghans Say Ready to Secure Parliamentary Poll. NYtimes

KABUL (Reuters) - Afghan security forces, backed by foreign troops, are "completely prepared" to secure elections this week, the president's office said on Monday, despite soaring violence and a Taliban threat to disrupt the vote.
